General Information - Junior Netball (Years 1-4)

Time: Saturday mornings during Term 1 and Term 4.  Game times will vary from year to year depending on the number of teams.  However, year 1 & 2 teams usually play at 9.30am and year 3 & 4 teams at midday.  If there are more than 16 teams in the year 3 & 4 grade, two rounds will be necessary.  The first round will run from 12.00pm to 1.00pm.  If required, a second round will run from 1.30pm to 2.30pm.

Location:  EBIS Netball Courts, Tacy Street, Kilbirnie

Duration:  7-8 weeks depending on school term and public holidays

Cancellations:  Will be notified from 9.00am via Facebook.  If no cancellation announcement is made, please assume netball is on

Uniform:  There are no uniform requirements, but children should wear suitable sports shoes and bring a drink bottle.

Equipment required:  All equipment required for the programme is provided by MK Netball, including balls and bibs. Year 3 & 4 teams may prefer to use their own bibs (GS, GA, C, GK, GD)

First aid:  MK Netball have limited supplies of first aid, including ice, at the Container

Toilets: There are toilets available at the courts

Scooters and dogs:  Please leave scooters and dogs at home as they are not allowed on the courts

Coaches/Star Helpers 
For Year 1 & 2, parents/caregivers are needed as Star Helpers to assist with the skills sessions and games.  Year 3 & 4 teams need a coach who will also control the game on Saturdays (there is no umpire as such).

Motu Kairangi will hold training sessions for Star Helpers and Coaches.  These dates will be advised via Facebook.

School Duties
There are no school duties during the junior netball programme as there is no shop running during the season.
